2025青科会预告丨脑机智能论坛将于10月24日启幕

10月24日至26日,由中国科学技术协会和浙江省人民政府联合主办的“2025世界青年科学家峰会(WYSS2025)”将在温州举行。作为本届青科会的平行论坛之一,“脑机智能论坛”也将于10月24日在温州开幕。

脑科学与人工智能的深度融合正引领智能范式的全新变革。本次论坛聚焦脑机接口、脑信息计算、类脑计算等前沿技术,探讨其核心技术、应用场景及未来趋势,推动跨学科合作与创新突破。

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Pedro Valdés-Sosa

Scientific Director, Belt and Road Joint Laboratory for Neurotechnology and Bacomics(UESTC)


Prof. Valdés-Sosa is a pioneering neuroscientist and co-founder of the Cuban Center for Neuroscience (CNEURO), which he now represents in China through his position as Distinguished Professor at UESTC. He is one of the founders of quantitative EEG (qEEG), co-authoring the landmark 1977 Science paper on Neurometrics, and has published over 400 articles with more than 15,000 citations (h-index 60+).

He has been recognized with China’s Friendship Award and the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award, and is a holder of the 1000 Talents Program, honoring his role in advancing neurotechnology through international collaboration.

As Scientific Director of the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory for Neurotechnology, he links Cuban and Chinese expertise to create scalable innovations. He also serves as Co-Director of the Global Brain Consortium, a network spanning more than 25 countries dedicated to reducing global inequities in brain research.

Prof. Valdés-Sosa combines historical leadership—as a founder of qEEG and of CNEURO—with current global influence, bridging Latin America, China, and international networks. For an EEG company seeking both innovation and strategic global partnerships, he offers a proven track record of translating science into large-scale health and technology impact.

Title: Harnessing AI for populatin brain health

Stephen Richard Williams

PI of Oujiang Laboratory


Prof. Williams has held staff and visiting scientist positions at world-leading research institutes, including the John Curtin School of Medial Research, Australia(2001), MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), Cambridge (2002, won Max Perutz Open Prize in 2004, tentured in 2009), the Queensland Brain Institute, Australia(2010). Concurrently he was invited to take up a visiting scientist position at the HHMI-Janelia Farm Research Campus, Ashburn, USA, the only Australian based scientist to be given this prestigious invitation. He became a professor in Monash University since 2023.

Over his independent academic career, his work has been published regularly in leading academic journals including Science, Nature, Neuron, and Nature Neuroscience highlighting breakthroughs in the understanding of single neuron and circuit computations in neocortical and retinal circuitry through the development of multi-site electrical and optical recording techniques. He has complemented this scholarly output with an increasing portfolio of institutional, university and national teaching, editorial, advisory and management roles, culminating in 2015 by the invitation to become Director of the Australian Course in Advanced Neuroscience - an Australasian Neuroscience Society Flagship programme - and in 2019 the award of a highly competitive 5-year NHMRC investigator scientist fellowship.

Dong Song

University of Southern California (USC)

Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery and Biomedical Engineering

Director of the Neural Modeling and Interface Laboratory


Dr. Song received his B.S. degree in Biophysics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1994 and his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from USC in 2004. His research aims to develop biomimetic devices that can be used to treat neurological disorders. Specifically, his group uses a combined experimental and computational strategy to (1) understand how brain regions such as the hippocampus perform cognitive functions, (2) develop next-generation modeling and neural interface methodologies to investigate brain functions during naturalistic behaviors, and (3) build cortical prostheses that can restore and enhance cognitive functions lost in diseases or injuries. He received the James H. Zumberge Individual Award at USC in 2008, the Outstanding Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering in 2013, and the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics Young Investigator Award in 2018. Dr. Song has published over 190 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers. He is a member of the Biomedical Engineering Society, IEEE, Society for Neuroscience, and National Academy of Inventors. Dr. Song’s research has been supported by DARPA, NSF, and NIH.

Title: Combining AI and BMI to Build Cognitive Prostheses

Raymond Tong

Chinese University of Hong Kong

Founding Chairman of the Department of Biomedical Engineering


Professor Raymond Tong is an expert in rehabilitation engineering. His election as a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) in 2022 underscores the international recognition of his academic accomplishments.

Professor Tong's research team has achieved excellence in rehabilitation robotics. His flagship invention, the “Hand of Hope," was the first Hong Kong invention to receive the Grand Prize at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in its 40-year history. More recently, his novel artificial muscle design earned a Gold Medal and Special Award in 2023, followed by a Gold Medal and two Special Awards at the 2024 Silicon Valley International Invention Festival.

An influential scholar, Professor Tong has authored over 200 SCI-indexed publications, which have garnered more than 12,000 citations. He also holds 20 invention patents.

许敏鹏

天津大学

讲席教授、天津大学医工院副院长


许敏鹏是国家级高层次人才计划入选者,国家重点研发计划首席科学家,“强国青年科学家”称号获得者,《麻省理工科技评论》“35岁以下科技创新35人”中国区入选者。主要研究方向为脑机接口,牵头开发了脑机接口综合性开源软件MetaBCI,作为骨干参研“天宫二号”在轨脑机接口、“脑语者”芯片等,成果入选国家“十三五”科技创新成就展。主持参与标准8项。以第一或通讯作者在Nature Electronics等发表论文200余篇,获中美欧授权发明专利40余项。

Yiwen Wang

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology


Yiwen Wang is an Associate Professor with substantiation in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Her research interests include neural decoding in brain-machine interfaces, adaptive signal processing, computational neuroscience, and neuromorphic engineering. She has held several leadership roles, including Chair of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Neural Engineering Technical Committee, board member of the Brain-Computer Interfaces Society, and the editorial board of the Journal of Neural Engineering. She also acts as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering.

She was recognized as an IEEE EMBS Distinguished Lecturer in 2022 and received the IEEE EMBS Distinguished Service Award in 2023. She was a theme keynote speaker at the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Annual Conference 2024.

Title: Behaviorally Reinforced Generative Spike Prediction Model: Towards the Rewiring of Disconnected Brain Areas

Yujie Wu

Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)


Yujie Wu is currently an Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Scholar) in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Previously, he received his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in 2021 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research in Professor Wolfgang Maass’s group in Austria (October 2021–February 2024). Dr. Wu’s research interests focus on computational neuroscience and brain-inspired intelligence. His work has been published in leading journals and conferences, including Nature, Science Robotics, Nature Computational Science, Nature Communications, ICML, and AAAI. These publications have garnered significant distinctions, such as several cover features, ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Papers, Featured Articles, Annual Recommended Papers, and Best Paper Awards. Dr. Wu currently serves as an Associate Editor for Neurocomputing and has been recognized among the World’s Top 2% Most Cited Scientists by Stanford University (2024, 2025).

Title: From Neural Plasticity to Intelligent Systems: Brain-Inspired Pathways Toward Adaptive Artificial Intelligence

杨雨潇

浙江大学脑机智能全国重点实验室、脑与脑机融合前沿科学中心研究员


杨雨潇的研究方向为脑机接口、人工智能、脑疾病神经调控治疗。致力于开发新型侵入式闭环脑机接口计算架构、模型方法以及原型系统,应用于难治性神经/精神疾病的智能精准脑刺激治疗。在Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Biotechnology等知名期刊发表多篇论文。主持国自然青年、面上等项目以及浙江省重大、“尖兵”等项目。获国际脑机接口研究奖和IEEE EMBC最佳论文奖。
