在上任不到一个月后，当地时间6日，法国总理勒科尔尼向总统马克龙递交辞呈，宣布辞职。他因此成为法兰西第五共和国历史上任期最短的总理。
当地时间5日，勒科尔尼公布了新政府组成第一批名单，其中保留了不少前政府成员。这份名单后遭到其他党派的强烈批评。勒科尔尼同时对国民议会各政党的“党派私欲”表示谴责。
