我是郭瑞暄,热爱一切美的事物,绘画与各种艺术形式如同呼吸般自然融入我的生活。在创作的世界里,我总能找到一种身心沉浸其中的宁静与惬意,仿佛时间在笔墨流转间变得温柔而缓慢。在接触国画之前,我已在艺术的海洋中尽情探索,湿水彩的灵动变幻、插画的精巧构思、动画的生动表达、手工艺的质朴韵味,还有小提琴的悠扬旋律、戏剧舞台的情感张力都让我对“美”有了更丰富的理解。这些经历像是一块块拼图,逐渐拼出我对艺术整体面貌的认知。
I'm Elaine. I love all things beautiful. Painting and various art forms are as natural as
breathing in my life. In the world of creation, I can always find a kind of serenity and
comfort that allows my body and mind to immerse themselves, as if time becomes
gentle and slow in the flow of brush and ink. Before delving into traditional Chinese painting, I had already explored the vast ocean of art with great enthusiasm. The fluid and ever-changing nature of watercolor, the ingenious conception of illustrations, the vivid expression of animation, the simple charm of handicrafts, as well as the melodious tunes of the violin and the emotional intensity of the stage in drama, all enriched my understanding of "beauty". These experiences were like pieces of a puzzle, gradually forming my overall perception of art.
十二岁那年,我向父亲提出想系统学习绘画,机缘之下,有幸师从崔先生。其实在这之前,家中早已有中华文化氛围的熏陶,我的母亲热爱书法与国画,偶尔也研究古琴。耳濡目染间,我对笔墨纸砚并不陌生,也对“以画写意”有了一层朦胧的向往。
When I was twelve years old, I asked my father if I could systematically study painting. By chance, I was fortunate enough to become a student of Mr. Cui. In fact, before that, there was already a cultural atmosphere of Chinese culture in my family. My mother loved calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting and occasionally studied the guqin. Through constant exposure, I was not unfamiliar with the brush, ink, paper and ink-stone, and I also had a vague yearning for "expressing one's feelings through painting"
我从六年级开始跟随崔先生学习,转眼已六年光阴。这段时光里,我从最基础的水墨控制、笔法运用,逐步深入到色彩的敷染技巧、构图的经营之道,再到花鸟画的研习刻画,写意的洒脱自如,都让我深刻体会到国画不仅是技法的锤炼,更是一种与自然对话、与传统共鸣的修行。
I began to study under Mr. Cui in the sixth grade, and it has been six years in the blink of an eye. During this period, I started from the most basic control of ink and water, the application of brushstrokes, gradually delved into the techniques of color application and composition, and then into the study and depiction of flower-and-bird paintings, as well as the free and easy style of freehand brushwork. All these have deeply made me realize that Chinese painting is not only about the refinement of techniques, but also a kind of practice that involves dialogue with nature and resonance with tradition.
以下来简单谈谈我对国画要素与技法的理解。
一、贯穿书法笔法:以笔传神,气韵生动
书法笔法是国画造型的基础,通过笔墨传递神韵。其核心在于四种基本技法的灵活运用:
勾勒:用笔要刚柔相济。画兰叶时要像书法写撇捺般流畅自然,画枝干则要运笔沉稳有力,体现出树木的坚韧特质。
皴擦:通过不同的用笔方式表现物体质感。画山石时,用笔可刚劲如斧劈,也可柔和如麻丝,通过墨色浓淡表现立体感。
点染:点如画龙点睛,染如轻纱薄雾。画荷叶时先用淡墨渲染朦胧,再用浓墨点出叶脉精神,使画面生动有致。
二、墨色:墨分五色,水润墨章
墨色的浓淡变化可以表现丰富的画面意境:
浓淡干湿:浓墨用于重点刻画,淡墨营造悠远意境。干笔显得苍劲有力,湿墨显得温润柔和,需要根据画面需要灵活运用。
墨法运用:破墨让水墨自然交融,积墨通过层层叠加使画面有层次而不呆板,这些都是表现墨色韵味的重要方法。
三、章法:构图布局,意境为先
构图不只为安排景物位置,更要营造意境:
虚实结合:重点景物细致刻画,次要部分适当简化。如近处的树木精细描绘,远处的枝叶轻淡处理,形成空间层次。
主次分明:画面的重点与衬托,如诗歌起承转合。主要景物突出表现,次要景物巧妙衬托,使整体和谐统一。
留白意境:空白处不是空缺,而是意境的延伸。适当的留白能让观者产生无限遐想,使画面气韵流动。
Here is a simple explanation of my understanding of the elements and techniques of traditional Chinese painting.
I. Integration of Calligraphic Brushwork: Conveying Spirit Through the Brush, Creating Vitality and Rhythm
Calligraphic brushwork forms the foundation of Chinese painting’s expressiveness, using ink and brush to convey spirit and charm. Its essence lies in the flexible application of four fundamental techniques:
Outlining and Delineating (勾勒): The brush should combine strength and softness. Painting orchid leaves should flow as naturally as calligraphic strokes, while branches should be rendered with steady, forceful brushwork to reflect the resilience of trees.
Texture Strokes (皴擦): Different brush techniques are used to depict texture. When painting mountains and rocks, strokes can be forceful like an axe chop or gentle like hemp fibers, using variations in ink tone to create a three-dimensional effect.
Dotting and Layering (点染): Dotting adds focal points, while layering creates subtle gradations. For lotus leaves, light ink is first applied to create a hazy effect, followed by darker ink dots to highlight the veins, bringing the painting to life.
II. Ink Tones: Five Shades of Ink, Moisture-Enriched Expression
Variations in ink intensity can express rich artistic conceptions:
Density, Lightness, Dryness, and Wetness: Dark ink is used for emphasis, while light ink creates a sense of depth. Dry brushstrokes appear vigorous, while wet ink conveys softness and fluidity. These should be applied flexibly according to the painting’s needs.
Ink Techniques: Techniques like pomo (breaking ink) allow ink and water to blend naturally, while jimo (layering ink) creates depth without rigidity.
These methods are essential for expressing the subtle charm of ink.
III. Composition: Arranging Elements with Artistic Conception as the Priority
Composition is not just about placing elements but also about evoking an artistic mood:
Balance of Solid and Void (虚实结合): Key elements are depicted in detail, while secondary parts are simplified. For example, trees in the foreground are rendered meticulously, while distant foliage is treated lightly to create spatial depth.
Clear Hierarchy (主次分明): The relationship between focal points and supporting elements should be harmonious, much like the structure of a poem. The main subjects stand out, while secondary elements complement them, ensuring unity and balance.
Meaningful Blank Space (留白意境): Empty areas are not voids but extensions of the artistic conception. Skillful use of blank space invites viewers’imagination and enhances the painting’s rhythmic flow.
回过头看,国画于我,早已不止是一门技艺。它是我与美对话的媒介,也是让我在纷扰中安放内心的方式。正如古人所言“外师造化,中得心源”,我仍在路上,笔墨也仍将继续。
Looking back, for me, traditional Chinese painting is no longer merely a skill. It is a medium through which I communicate with beauty, and also a way for me to find peace within myself amidst the chaos. Just as the ancients said, "Learn from
nature externally and obtain the essence internally," I am still on this journey, and my brushstrokes will continue as well.
【迎春燕子图】
这幅写意花鸟图是我的首个作品,画面以明丽的迎春花为主体,花朵形态娇俏,似在微风中轻轻摇曳。两只燕子姿态灵动,或俯冲、或翱翔,为画面增添了生机与动感。以简练的笔墨勾勒出花枝的轮廓与乌儿的身形,色彩运用明快却不艳俗,表现出春日花鸟的活泼意趣,尽显写意画重神韵、简概括的特点,营造出充满生机的中式意境。
【Spring Swallows Painting】
This freehand flower and bird painting is my first work. The
picture features bright chrysanthemums as the main subject. The
flower shapes are delicate and seem to sway gently in the breeze.
Two swallows have dynamic postures, either diving or soaring,
adding vitality and movement to the picture. The use of concise
brushstrokes to outline the branches and the forms of the birds,
with bright but not overly garish colors, which well express the
lively charm of spring flowers and birds, fully demonstrating the
characteristics of freehand painting that emphasizes spirit and
simplicity, creating a vibrant Chinese-style atmosphere.
【紫藤麻雀图】
图中紫藤花以淡紫、粉紫等色彩晕染,花朵繁茂,如瀑布般垂落,尽显柔美姿态。两只麻雀造型生动,或停驻、或振翅,与紫藤花相互映衬。笔墨上,枝干用墨浓淡相宜,展现出苍劲质感,花朵则通过细腻的色彩过渡,表现出轻盈灵动之美。整体构图主次分明,紫藤花为画面重点,麻雀巧妙衬托,同时留白的背景让画面气韵流动,体现出“诗书画印”一体的国画特色,营造出雅致的氛围。
【Wisteria and Sparrow Painting】
In this painting, the wisteria flowers are depicted with various shades of purple
and pink, blooming profusely and cascading down like a waterfall, showcasing a
gentle and graceful posture. Two birds are depicted with vivid shapes, either
perched or flapping their wings, complementing the wisteria flowers. In terms of
brushwork, the branches are depicted with appropriate ink gradations, presenting
a strong and vigorous texture, while the flowers are shown through delicate color
transitions, demonstrating a light and lively beauty. The overall composition is
clear in its emphasis, with the wisteria flowers being the main focus of the
painting, and the birds serving as a subtle contrast. The blank background left in
the painting allows the atmosphere to flow, embodying the unique characteristics
of traditional Chinese painting that integrates poetry, calligraphy, painting, and
seal engraving, creating a refined atmosphere.
【听花语】
画面描绘了枝头花鸟之景,花朵以简洁的笔墨勾勒形态,花瓣舒展,花蕊点缀其间,颇具灵动之感。两只鸟儿神态各异,一只似在鸣叫,一只似在静听,与花朵共同营造出“听花语”的意境。枝干用笔苍劲,墨色变化丰富,表现出枝干的挺拔与质感。构图上虚实结合,重点刻画花鸟,背景适当简化,形成空间层
次,同时左侧的书法题字与印章,更增添了作品的文化韵味,整体意境清幽雅致。
【Hear the Language of Flowers】
The picture depicts the scene of flowers and birds on the branches. The flowers
are sketched with simple lines, their petals spread out, and the stamens are
scattered among them, giving a sense of liveliness. Two birds have different
postures: one seems to be chirping, while the other seems to be listening quietly.
Together with the flowers, they create the artistic conception of "Listening to the
Language of Flowers". The branches are depicted with vigorous brushstrokes and
rich ink variations, showcasing the firmness and texture of the branches. The
composition combines the use of both light and dark areas, focusing on the
depiction of the flowers and birds, while simplifying the background to create
spatial depth. Additionally, the calligraphy inscription on the left and the seal at
the bottom further enhances the cultural charm of the work, creating an overall
atmosphere of tranquility and elegance.
【秋塘静艳】
此图展现了秋塘边的景象,一只鸭子造型生动,羽毛通过墨色与色彩的巧妙结合,表现出丰富的层次与质感,鸭子神态悠然,似在塘边休憩。旁边的植物枝叶繁茂,红色的果实点缀其中,为画面增添了秋日的艳丽色彩。笔墨运用上,植物枝叶用墨淋漓,果实色彩鲜明,与鸭子的墨色形成对比。构图主次分明,鸭子为画面重点,植物作为衬托,整体营造出秋塘静谧又不失艳丽的独特意境。
【Autumn Pond with Tranquil Beauty】
This painting depicts the scene near the autumn pond. A duck is depicted with
great detail, and its feathers are beautifully combined through the harmonious
blending of ink and colors, showcasing rich layers and texture. The duck appears
relaxed, as if resting by the pond. The surrounding plants have lush branches and
leaves, with red fruits scattered among them, adding vibrant autumn colors to the
picture. In terms of brushwork, the plant branches are generously inked, while the
fruits have distinct colors, creating a contrast with the ink color of the duck. The
composition is clear in its emphasis, with the duck being the main focus and the
plants serving as a backdrop. Overall, it creates a unique and serene yet colorful
atmosphere of the autumn pond.

这幅画以苍松为描绘对象,是对我个人极具挑战性的一幅作品,因要展现出松的苍劲,松树主干挺拔,纹理通过浓淡墨色的巧妙运用,展现出苍劲斑驳的质
感,仿佛历经岁月沧桑。松枝向四周伸展,松针以细致的笔墨勾勒,繁而不乱,尽显松树的坚韧与生机。画面以黑白墨色为主,通过墨色的浓淡干湿变化,表现出松树的立体感与空间感。构图简洁大气,突出松树的主体地位,营造出一种清峻、刚劲的意境。
【Green Wind Painting】
This painting focuses on depicting a towering pine tree. This is one of the most
challenging works for me personally. The main trunk of the pine is straight and
strong, and the texture is beautifully portrayed through the skillful use of light
and dark ink colors, giving a sense of rugged and intricate texture, as if it has
weathered through the ages. The pine branches extend in all directions, and the
pine needles are delicately outlined with fine brushstrokes, being numerous yet
not chaotic, fully showcasing the pine tree's tenacity and vitality. The painting
mainly uses black and white ink colors, and through the changes in ink thickness,
dryness and wetness, it presents the three-dimensionality and spatial sense of the
pine tree. The composition is simple and grand, highlighting the dominant
position of the pine tree, creating a clear and vigorous atmosphere.
【清风图】
这幅画以水墨绘就荷塘之景,荷叶用浓淡墨色表现出舒展的形态与层次感,墨色的晕染自然灵动,仿佛带着水汽。荷花或含苞、或初绽,用笔简练却尽显娇美姿态。还有一只红色蜻蜓停于荷茎,为素净的水墨画面增添一抹亮色与生机。画面右侧的书法题字与印章,体现了“诗书画印”一体的国画特色,整体营造出清幽雅致、充满自然意趣的“清风”意境。
【Clear Wind Painting】
This painting depicts the scene of a lotus pond using ink. The lotus
leaves are depicted with varying shades of ink to show their
stretched form and layering effect. The ink blending is natural and
lively, as if carrying water vapor. The lotus flowers are either in
bud or just blooming, with concise brushstrokes yet showcasing
their delicate and beautiful posture. There is also a red dragonfly
perched on the lotus stem, adding a bright and lively touch to the
plain ink painting. The calligraphy inscription and seal on the right
side of the painting reflect the unique feature of "poetry,
calligraphy, painting, and seal" in traditional Chinese painting,
creating a serene and elegant "clear wind" atmosphere full of
natural charm.
【墨竹小鸡图】
画面展现了墨竹与小鸡的组合。墨竹枝干挺拔,以浓淡墨色和流畅的线条勾勒,竹叶疏密有致,用笔劲健,尽显竹子的劲节与气韵。两只小鸡造型可爱,以简洁的水墨点染而成,神态生动,仿佛在竹下嬉戏。右侧的书法题字与印章,丰富了画面的文化内涵,整体营造出清新自然、充满生趣的氛围。
【Illustration of Bamboo and Chickens】

图中梅花枝干苍劲,以浓墨表现出虬曲之态,花朵用鲜艳的色彩点染,繁密却不失灵动,尽显梅花的娇美与生机。几只小鸡造型生动,或低头、或张望,与梅花相互映衬,增添了画面的生趣。左侧的书法题字“宝剑锋从磨砺出,梅花香自苦寒来”,既为点明梅花的品格,又为与画面相得益彰,整体营造出雅致且
富有意趣的意境。
【Illustration of Plum Blossoms and Chickens】

the left, the calligraphy inscription reads, “A sword's edge comes
from sharpening, the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from
enduring hardship.” This inscription not only highlights the
character of the plum blossoms but also complements the picture,
creating an elegant and interesting overall atmosphere.
【菊酒延年】
画面描绘了菊花、螃蟹与茶具的组合。菊花色彩明艳,有粉色、白色等,花朵形态饱满,叶片以浓墨表现,衬托出菊花的艳丽。螃蟹色彩鲜艳诱人,置于盘
中,旁边还有茶壶与茶杯,营造出一种闲适的生活场景。左侧的书法题字“菊酒延年”点明主题,传递出对长寿与中秋的美好祝愿,整体画面充满生活意趣与
文化韵味。
【Chrysanthemum Wine for Longevity】
The picture depicts a combination of chrysanthemums, crabs and
tea sets. The chrysanthemums have bright colors, including pink
and white, with full flower shapes and thickly inked leaves,
highlighting the beauty of the chrysanthemums. The crabs are
brightly colored and have a lively shape, placed on a plate, with a
teapot and teacup beside them, creating a leisurely living scene.
The calligraphy inscription on the left, “Chrysanthemum Wine for
Longevity”, clarifies the theme and conveys a wish for longevity in
mid autumn, making the entire picture full of life charm and
cultural flavor.
【石榴图】
这幅画展现了石榴与湖石的景致。石榴果实饱满,色彩鲜艳,有的已经绽开,露出晶莹的籽粒,叶片青翠,与石榴的色彩相互映衬,尽显生机。湖石以淡青
色绘就,造型独特,与石榴枝相互搭配,丰富了画面层次。左侧的书法题字“精诚所至,金石为开”, 为画面增添了文化内涵,整体营造出充满生机与寓意的意境。
【Pomegranate Painting】
This painting depicts the scene of pomegranates and rockeries by
the lake. The pomegranates are plump and brightly colored, with
some already blooming and revealing their translucent seeds. The
leaves are green, complementing the colors of the pomegranates,
and the whole scene exudes vitality. The rockeries are depicted in a
light blue color, with unique shapes, and are paired with the
branches of the pomegranates, enriching the layers of the picture.
The calligraphy inscription on the left, "When sincerity is achieved,
even metal and stone will yield, adds cultural connotations to the
picture, creating an overall atmosphere filled with vitality and
meaning.

画面以水墨绘柳条,线条流畅灵动,仿佛在水中摇曳。几条金鱼色彩艳丽,身形灵动,在柳叶间游动,姿态栩栩如生。左侧的书法题字“金玉满堂”点明主
题,传递出富贵吉祥的美好寓意,整体画面充满动感与生机,体现出对自然生机的捕捉与表现。
【Gold and Jade Abounding the House】
The picture depicts willow branches in ink painting, with smooth
and lively lines, as if they are swaying in water. Several colorful
goldfish have agile shapes and are swimming among the willow
leaves, with lifelike postures. The calligraphy inscription on the
left,"Gold and Jade Abounding the House", clarifies the theme,
conveying the beautiful meaning of prosperity and good fortune.
The overall picture is full of movement and vitality, reflecting the
capture and expression of the natural vitality.

从左至右,第一幅画中,鸟儿立于梅花枝头,鸟儿造型生动,羽毛以浓淡墨色表现出质感,梅花花朵鲜艳,枝干苍劲,书法题字“鸟语花香”与画面呼应,
营造出春日花鸟的灵动氛围。第二幅画里,鸟儿栖息在梅花枝上,梅花枝干曲折,花朵繁密,色彩鲜艳,题字“报春”点明意境,传递出春的讯息。第三幅画
中,鸟儿立于梅花枝,梅花枝干纤细,花朵点缀其间,题字“喜来登”增添了喜庆的意味,三幅画都通过花鸟组合,营造出雅致且富有生机的意境。
【Three Pictures of Flowers and Birds】
From left to right, in the first picture, the bird stands on the branch of the
plum blossom tree. The bird is depicted with a vivid form, and its feathers are
expressed with varying shades of ink to convey texture. The plum blossoms are
bright, and the branches are strong and firm. The calligraphy inscription
"Birds Singing and Flowers Fragrant" echoes the scene, creating a lively

the branch of the plum blossom tree. The branch is crooked, the flowers are

左侧画中,菊花色彩明艳,有黄色、橙色等,花朵形态各异,或盛放或半开,叶片以浓墨表现,与菊花的色彩形成对比,旁边的湖石以淡墨与色彩绘就,丰富了画面层次,题字“好花秋更丽”点明菊花在秋日的艳丽。右侧画里,菊花盛放于篮中,色彩金黄,叶片墨绿,篮子造型质朴,旁边还有枝条点缀,题字“何
必羡春华,香昭秋更丽”,赞美了菊花在秋季的美丽与芬芳,两幅画都突出了菊花的风姿与品格。
【Two Pictures of Chrysanthemums】
On the left side of the painting, the chrysanthemums have bright
colors such as yellow and orange. The flowers come in various shapes,
some fully bloomed and some partially open. The leaves are depicted
in thick ink, contrasting with the colors of the chrysanthemums. The
adjacent rockeries are painted in light ink and colors, enriching the
layers of the picture. The inscription "Beautiful flowers are even more
splendid in autumn" highlights the beauty of the chrysanthemums in
autumn. On the right side of the painting, the chrysanthemums are
placed in a basket, with golden colors and dark green leaves. The
basket has a simple shape, and there are also branches scattered
around. The inscription "Why envy the spring blossoms? The
fragrance is even more splendid in autumn" praises the beauty and
fragrance of the chrysanthemums in autumn. Both paintings highlight
the grace and character of the chrysanthemums.
这套四幅国画作品,以水墨为主要表现形式,分别描绘了小鸭、虾、螃蟹、小鸡四种物象,各有特色又和谐统一。
第一幅是小鸭图,画面中多只小鸭形态各异,或游弋、或驻足,以简洁的水墨点染而成,墨色浓淡变化自然,生动展现出小鸭的憨态可掬与活泼灵动,背景留白,营造出春江水面的空阔意境,左侧题字“春江水暖鸭先知”,既点明时节与画面意趣,又增添了文化韵味。
第二幅为群虾图,虾的造型灵动,长须与虾身以流畅的线条勾勒,墨色的运用精准地表现出虾的透明质感与在水中游动的姿态,仿佛能感受到水的流动,题字“无鱼虾自奇”,凸显出虾自身的独特意趣,画面充满生机与动态美。
第三幅是螃蟹图,螃蟹形态各异,有的张牙舞爪,有的静静伏卧,以浓淡墨色表现出蟹壳的坚硬质感与蟹身的层次,题字赋予螃蟹一种霸气的形象,让画面更具意趣与想象空间。
第四幅为小鸡图,几只小鸡神态天真活泼,以简洁的水墨勾勒出圆润的身形与灵动的姿态,仿佛在嬉戏玩闹,题字直接点明小鸡的可爱特质,画面充满童真与生趣。整套作品通过对不同物象的细致描绘,运用水墨技法的浓淡干湿变化,展现出自然生物的生机与意趣,同时每幅的题字与画面相得益彰,体现了国画“诗书画印”一体的艺术特点,整体营造出清新自然、充满生活意趣的氛围。
This set of four ink paintings mainly uses ink as the expression medium, depicting four different objects: a duckling, a shrimp, a crab, and a chicken. Each has its own unique features while remaining harmoniously unified.
The first painting is of the duckling. In the picture, multiple ducklings have various postures, either swimming or standing still. They are depicted with simple ink dots, and the ink color gradations are natural, vividly showing the cute and lively nature of the ducklings. The background is left blank, creating an expansive atmosphere of the spring river surface. On the left side, the inscription reads "The river is warm in spring, and the ducks are the first to know", which not only indicates the season and the artistic conception of the picture but also adds cultural flavor.
The second painting depicts a group of shrimps. The shrimps are depicted with a lively and dynamic appearance. Their long antennae are sketched with smooth lines along the body. The use of ink color precisely conveys the transparent texture of the shrimps and their swimming posture in the water, making one feel the flow of water.
