近日，有船员咨询：“我持有沿海航区未满500总吨的船长适任证书，可以在500总吨以下但主机功率大于3000千瓦的拖轮上任职吗？”
不可以。根据《中华人民共和国船员适任考试和发证规则》第八条第五款规定：在拖轮上任职的船长和甲板部船员所持适任证书等级与该拖轮的主推进动力装置功率的等级相对应。
