8月23日晚，“羽毛球杂志”账号透露，赛会1号种子、中国选手石宇奇的国籍被错写成阿尔及利亚。8月25日至31日，2025羽毛球世锦赛将在巴黎举行。
石宇奇拿着本次参赛的运动员证，证件上标注石宇奇为“ALGERIA DELEGATION PLAYER”（阿尔及利亚代表团选手）。
