日本气象厅的数据显示，当地时间7月24日，日本多地出现35摄氏度以上的“酷暑天气”，北海道多地气温创下有记录以来的新高。
截至当地时间24日17时，日本全国900多处观测点中，有近300处测得35摄氏度以上的“酷暑天气”。此外，北海道有18处观测点测得历史最高气温，其中北见市一处观测点最高气温达39摄氏度，带广市一处观测点最高气温达到38.8摄氏度。
