根据新闻报道，2024 年西藏常住人口为 370 万，是全国人口最少的省级行政区，面积120.28万平方公里，其人口密度也为全国最低。
常住人口364万人（2020年）。
全区辖6个地级市、1个地区（合计7个地级行政区划单位），8个市辖区、64个县、2个县级市 （合计74个县级行政区划单位）。
