7月6日，2025年中国女篮热身赛第五场比赛在海南海口进行，中国女篮63-76不敌澳大利亚队，四连胜遭终结。赛后，中国队主教练宫鲁鸣接受采访。
谈到与澳大利亚队的交锋，宫鲁鸣说道：“澳大利亚队是热身赛面对的最强对手，我们球员表现得不成熟，慌慌张张的，球队需要提升队员的身体对抗能力和罚篮命中率。”
按照赛程安排，7月8日，两队将在湖南长沙再度交手。
