6月18日，马斯克的太空探索技术公司（SpaceX）“星舰”S36飞船在测试时发生爆炸。
视频画面显示，发动机刚刚点火，飞船突然爆炸并解体，巨大火球冲上天空。SpaceX正在调查爆炸原因。这是“星舰”试飞前进行的静态点火测试，飞船原定于6月30日进行第十次试飞。5月27日，“星舰”实施第九次试飞，火箭第二级飞船进入太空后失控解体。
