6月9日，国际女子网球协会（WTA）宣布，今年9月至10月期间，共有五站全新WTA125级别赛事将在中国举办。分别是长沙站、湖州站、京山站、苏州站和济南站。其中，湖北省京山市将于9月22日至28日承办一站比赛，这标志着京山将成为我国首个举办WTA职业网球赛事的县级市。
