截至5月31日，全省夏播面积3654.4万亩，占预计面积的40.6%。粮食作物已播2595万亩，占预计面积的38%，其中玉米2116万亩，水稻375万亩、大豆43万亩；花生已播742万亩；瓜菜已播178万亩。各市夏播进度：驻马店1053万亩(83%)、信阳502万亩(78%)、南阳669万亩(60%)、周口666万亩(58%)、平顶山216万亩(55%)、漯河89万亩(41%)、郑州90万亩(34%)、洛阳102万亩(25%)、许昌90万亩(23%)。
