日本国家旅游局5月21日公布的估算数据显示，4月访日外国人达到390.89万人次，超过1月创下的此前单月最高纪录（378.1629万人次）。4月访日外国人较上年同期增加28.5%。
从国家和地区来看，最多为中国大陆（76.51万人次），同比增加43.4%；其次分别为韩国（72.16万人次，增加9.1%）和中国台湾（53.76万人次，增加16.9%）。
