当地时间18日，印度空间研究组织使用极地卫星运载火箭发射地球观测卫星“EOS-09”。该卫星原计划被送入太阳同步轨道，但发射后不久，发射基地与卫星失联。
随后，印度空间研究组织宣布卫星未能成功进入预定轨道，发射任务失败。
