据统计，森林狼是自1980年和1981年NHL北极星队后，明尼苏达州首支四大体育联盟（NFL、MLB、NBA、NHL）连续两年跻身季后赛四强的球队。
而四大联盟的之外的WNBA联盟，明尼苏达州WNBA球队山猫队曾在2011年—2017年连续七年间全部闯进季后赛四强，其中四夺总冠军。
