纽约股市三大股指5月12日大幅上涨。截至当天收盘，道琼斯工业平均指数比前一交易日上涨1160.72点，收于42410.10点，涨幅为2.81%；标准普尔500种股票指数上涨184.28点，收于5844.19点，涨幅为3.26%；纳斯达克综合指数上涨779.43点，收于18708.34点，涨幅为4.35%。
板块方面，标普500指数十一大板块十涨一跌。非必需消费品板块和科技板块分别以5.66%和4.66%的涨幅领涨，公用事业板块下跌0.68%。
