北京时间3月21日，在世界杯南美预选赛第13轮的一场比赛中，巴拉圭以1-0的比分击败了智利。赛后，智利中场比达尔面对巴拉圭球迷的辱骂，伸出两根手指予以回应，表示自己有两座美洲杯冠军。
比达尔在2015年及2016年两度跟随智利获得了美洲杯，他们两次都在决赛中点球战胜了阿根廷队。值得一提的是，巴拉圭历史上也拿到了两次美洲杯冠军，分别是1953年和1979年。
