此瑞兽为和田白玉所雕，局部鸡骨白，器表土渍色，玉质致密，有少量褐色小斑点。瑞兽身形悍猛，作扁伏爬行状，昂首前视，双目圆睁，张口露出锋利的牙齿。背生双翼，翅羽为平行状，翅端向上卷涡，长尾分叉卷曲。从整体造型到细节都具备典型汉代瑞兽特征，体现了雄浑的汉兽气象。
