On the China-US relations, China's position is consistent and clear, and China stands ready to work with the US to address each other's concerns through dialogue and consultation under the principle of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said in Beijing on Wednesday.

Guo made the comments in response to a media inquiry concerning President Donald Trump's oldest son's remarks involving China. It was reported that citing a nominated Pentagon post, Trump Junior claimed that the US military should focus on China, but at the same time, the American people would benefit most from a balance of power with China that avoids war.
"In the meanwhile, we will firmly safeguard our sovereignty, security and development interests." Guo said.
Guo expressed the hope that the US will work with China in the same direction, jointly implement the important common understandings between the two presidents, and promote the steady, sound and sustainable development of the bilateral relations. (By Ma Ziqian/China Youth Daily)
