理查兹表示他目前仍住在酒店，行李都还没怎么打开整理，但太阳队让他有了家的感觉。
他表示：“他们热情地接纳了我，竭尽所能让我感到像在家一样自在。我觉得，再打两场主场比赛，我就能完全适应，就像在家一样舒服了。”
加盟太阳后，理查兹出战了3场比赛，场均24.3分钟得到11分10篮板0.7助攻0.7盖帽。
