1月13日，重庆动物园发布讣告，该园川金丝猴“吉吉”于2024年12月13日发病，临床表现精神不振、食欲不佳、腹痛。兽医对“吉吉”采取了以消炎止痛，控制感染，维持电解质平衡，补充维生素的方案进行治疗，但“吉吉”最终于12月31日死亡。经临床剖检和病理检查，死亡原因为化脓性腹膜炎及肝脓肿。
