传闻佳能正在开发RF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS STM，其灵感或来源于此前发布的RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM。该镜头发布后可能成为市面上最小的70-200，价格也要比L级的70-200要低上许多。不过也有消息人士称这支镜头的长焦端会更短一些，类似70-150mm f/2.8 IS STM。
