12月16日至17日，在海事部门全程协调维护下，现阶段全球载重能力最大的自航甲板船“泛洲8”轮顺利离港，前往上海以东水域试航。17日晚间，“泛洲8”轮通过长江到达试航海域，正在进行各种专业测试。
“泛洲8”轮总长256米，型宽51米，型深13米，最大载重量58405.4吨，续航可达16000海里，最大航速超过15节（约27.78公里/小时）。是现阶段全球载重能力最大、综合功能最强的自航甲板船。（央视新闻）
