新疆医科大学第六附属医院发布讣告，我国脊柱外科创始人之一、新疆医科大学第六附属医院原名誉院长、新疆维吾尔自治区脊柱外科研究所原所长、终身享受国务院特殊津贴专家田慧中教授，因病抢救无效于2024年12月1日14时10分在新疆医科大学第六附属医院逝世，享年100岁。
