Chapter 3: The Study Session

After school, Daniel and Emma found a quiet corner in the library. Emma spread out her notes and textbooks, explaining concepts with ease. As she worked through the problems with him, Daniel began to feel more confident. Her way of explaining things made everything click in his mind.

“See? You’re getting it,” Emma said encouragingly as Daniel solved one of the practice questions on his own.

“I guess I just needed someone to explain it to me like this,” Daniel admitted, feeling a sense of relief. “Thanks, Emma.”

“No problem! I like helping people,” Emma replied with a smile.

As they continued studying, Daniel realized how much he enjoyed spending time with her. She was smart, funny, and always knew how to make him feel comfortable. For the first time since coming to Crestwood, he felt like he truly belonged.

When they finally wrapped up their session, Emma gave him a thumbs-up. “You’ll ace the next test, no doubt.”

Daniel smiled. “I hope so. And thanks again for helping me.”
