半决赛中，安洗莹与印尼选手玛丽斯卡相遇，安洗莹在首局失利的情况下让一追二，11-21、21-13、21-16逆转玛丽斯卡，首次晋级奥运决赛，同时取得双方交手的9连胜。
另一场半决赛，西班牙名将马林在首局21-14取胜，次局10-8领先时扭伤膝盖无法坚持，中国选手何冰娇最终晋级决赛。
