7月3日，据媒体人“江南的城”的消息，原山西男篮助教潘江新赛季将担任球队主帅一职。
潘江出生于1985年12月26日，球员时代曾效力于山西男篮，退役后加入山西男篮担任助教，曾在2021年短暂担任过球队主帅。
2023-24赛季结束后，山西男篮原主帅杨学增离任。23-24赛季常规赛中，山西男篮27省25负位列联赛第12，季后赛12进8比赛中1-2不敌广厦。
