在《中国心理学会-中国科学院心理研究所心理咨询师水平评价规范（试行）》（以下简称《规范》）中给出规定：
心理咨询师分4个水平等级，由高到低分别是：
①一级心理咨询师；
②二级心理咨询师；
③三级心理咨询师；
④助理心理咨询师；
心理咨询师通过水平评价确定等级。
