据央视新闻，当地时间1月12日，世卫组织认证佛得角为无疟疾国家。佛得角是非洲地区第三个获得世卫组织无疟疾认证的国家，此前毛里求斯和阿尔及利亚分别于1973年和2019年获得无疟疾认证。
非洲大陆的疟疾负担最高，2021年约占全球疟疾病例的95%，死亡患者占全球总数的96%。
