6月2日，据《韩国时报》报道，浦项制铁旗下电池材料生产子公司POSCO Future M和通用汽车宣布，将扩大在电池核心和电极材料领域的共同投资，并加强在北美的供应链合作。两家公司为扩大北美正极材料合资企业Ultium CAM的产能，将分两阶段进行投资。报道称，POSCO Future M计划向Ultium CAM投资约13亿美元，将用于扩建年产3.3万吨的正极材料工厂和建设年产4.5万吨的负极材料工厂。
