（1)从茶叶的外形上来看，六安瓜片呈条形，条索紧结，色泽嫩绿，叶披白霜，明亮油润，大小均匀。
（2)从叶底看，六安瓜片叶底嫩黄均匀，叶边背卷，叶质均匀整齐，直挺顺滑。
（3)从汤色和滋味来看，冲泡后，谷雨前采摘的嫩茶色泽淡青，不均匀，有清香味；谷雨后采摘的茶色泽深青，均匀。中期茶有栗香，后期茶则有高火香。滋味微苦清淡，且品级越高味道越淡，不耐冲泡。
