Tetiaroa，常常被译为 “特提亚岛” ， “罗阿岛” 又或是 “泰蒂亚罗阿岛”，是法属波利尼西亚群岛之一。它位于南太平洋岛屿大溪地本岛以北约30英里（约50公里）处，周边珊瑚礁环绕，非常隐秘，只有乘坐私人飞机才能到达。

About the Tetiaroa

Tetiaroa, also referred to as "Tetiaro Island" or "Roa" in short, as one of the French Polynesian Islands, is located 30 miles (50 km) north of Tahiti, a South Pacific island, surrounded by coral reefs and only accessible by private jets.

With a total area of about 1,450 acres (587 ha / 5,870,000 square meters), Tetiaroa is an atoll of 12 small islands with a large lagoon in the middle. When overlooked, it is like a sapphire with the blue-green shallow lagoon waters in contrast to the deeper and darker Pacific waters around the atoll. As the home to thousands of diverse varieties of birds, Tetiaroa is a paradise for birds, turtles and all kinds of marine life whereas the rich reef surrounding it is a magnificent oasis of at least 167 fish species, ranging from neon parrotfish to spotted eagle rays.

Besides its breath-taking natural beauty, the beautiful lagoon is also of great development potential. As is well known, many water cottages have been built on the Maldives lagoon and tourists can never shut up about their charm. Differently, in order to protect the lagoon's water body, the Brando Resort has chosen one of the islands of Tetiaroa Island to build 35 villas, each with a separate private pool. How wonderful would it be to own such an island! You may wonder. Well, it is not a dream that hard to actualize as most people think. Not all private islands are that expensive. As a matter of fact, some private islands are of similar prices to those of high or top grade cars and many others, Tetiaroa included, are open for rent.

For the sake of territorial security and ecological preservation, permanent property rights of many private islands are not for sale. Instead, rights of lease for 10 to 99 years are ready for transfer (depending on national policies). As is widely known, Marlon Brando, the famous actor who played godfather, fell in love with this charming private island of Tetiaroa in 1960, and paid $27 0,000 the 99-year lease (longer than the 70-year ownership of domestic property) of the island in 1967. Though with a different exchange rate from that of today, this purchase is considered as a great bargain as with the same sum of money, one can probably only afford a city center luxurious estate of several hundred square meters. After all, it is the slow life away from the noise and stress of cities on such a picturesque island we are talking about!

With the several decades Mr.Brando spent living here aside, the resort has been run for nearly eight years since its completion in 2014. And as science and technology further advances, along with the increasingly sound ecological development technology of the islands, it is believed that in the future, greater commercial value and sustainable development can be realized without damaging the original ecology of private islands. And we are positive that in the next decades to go before the property rights expire, there is so much to expect!

In fact, in addition to Tetiaroa, there are many other private islands in the Pacific Ocean on sale.
