6月4日上午10时20分许，由贵阳北站开往广州南站的动车D2809次列车在贵州榕江车站发生了脱线事故，列车车头损毁严重，部分列车车厢脱离轨道。此次事故导致列车司机死亡，1名列车员与7名旅客受伤。列车上其他136名旅客已安排转运疏散。
