江华湾水源抽水蓄能电站位于湘江乡，于2021年9月列入国家能源局《抽水蓄能中长期发展规划（2021-2035年）》“十四五”重点实施项目。初拟电站装机容量为120万kW，年发电量15亿度，总投资约80亿元，建设期间可产生税收3.8亿元，建成后每年创税1.5亿元，对实现美丽江华，提升区域品牌具有促进作用。
