据国家卫健委通报，3月18日，全国31省份新增死亡病例2例，均为本土病例，在吉林。
这是自2021年1月以来，中国31个省（自治区、直辖市）和新疆生产建设兵团首次报告新增死亡病例。2021年1月13日，河北石家庄出现1例死亡病例。2021年1月26日，吉林通化出现1例死亡病例。
