据界面新闻报道，律师事务所Gerben Law的商标律师格本（Josh Gerben）发现，麦当劳已经为旗下麦当劳和McCafé品牌申请了元宇宙注册商标。Gerben表示，美国专利商标局需要8至9个月的时间来审查，他预料麦当劳的申请可获批。
消息称，麦当劳的注册商标申请包括虚拟食品和虚拟饮料产品、可下载的多媒体文件，非同质化代币（NFT），以及在线娱乐服务（如虚拟音乐会）。
