内马尔在采访中说：“我真的很想再为桑托斯踢球。”“我真的很想念鱼（桑托斯俱乐部绰号）和维拿贝明洛球场（桑托斯俱乐部主场），我真的很想在那里踢球。我的天哪，那是一座多么漂亮的球场啊。”
内马尔出身于桑托斯青训，2013年夏天离开桑托斯登陆欧洲，加盟巴萨。
