水泵变频器的输出频率通过微机控制管子，从而自动调节水泵电机的转速。采用闭环调节实现管网水压(PID)，使供水系统自动恒定于设定的压力值：即，用水增加，频率升高，水泵转速加快，供水量相应增加；用水量减少，频率降低，水泵转速下降，供水量也相应减小，从而保证供水效率用户对水压和水量的要求。
