经中国民航局批复，郴州市委、市政府研究决定，北湖机场定于9月16日正式通航，首航开通郴州=北京（大兴机场）、上海=郴州=北海两条航线，每周4班，首趟航班执飞郴州北湖机场往返北京大兴机场。
