8月20日晚， 16岁的刘强（化名）到胶州市三里河公园猫屎咖啡店南侧游玩时发生意外。据知情人介绍，刘强是高密人，到胶州打工，在游玩时刘强和两名同伴上了拴在岸边打捞垃圾的小船，在从河中往回划的过程中，刘强自己跳下船想游回岸边，不幸发生意外。同行伙伴随后拨打报警电话。晚10时40分许，胶州市蓝天救援队赶到现场展开救援，经过紧张搜救，落水男孩被找到并移交给现场家属和医护人员。
