The World Health Organization (WHO) has criticised the EU's announcement of export controls on vaccines produced within the bloc, saying such measures risked prolonging the pandemic.
The EU introduced the measure amid a row with vaccine manufacturers over delivery shortfalls.
But WHO vice-head Mariangela Simao said it was a "very worrying trend".
Earlier WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said "vaccine nationalism" could lead to a "protracted recovery".

Sicknick 42, was injured while "physically engaging with protesters", police said. He died the following day.
He was one of five people to lose their lives in the riot, which led to Donald Trump's second impeachment.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he would lie in honour in the Capitol.

French PM Jean Castex has announced tough new Covid-19 border restrictions, but has again resisted imposing a new nationwide lockdown.
From Sunday all but essential travel from outside of the EU will be banned. Testing requirements from inside the EU will also be tightened.
Mr Castex said police would increase their enforcement of an evening curfew and other rules already in place.
Infections remain high in France, despite recent rule tightening.

A one-off tax on Argentina's richest people comes into effect to help pay for medical supplies and relief for businesses struggling due to Covid-19.
Those with assets of more than 200 million pesos ($2.3m; £1.67m) will have to pay about 3% on assets declared within the country and over 5% on assets held abroad.
It will apply to around 12,000 people.
The government hopes to raise around $3bn. The money will also help fund scholarships and social aid.
