12月29日，揭阳市惠来县举办第二届冬瓜王大赛。经过比拼，东港镇出产的一个黑皮冬瓜以39公斤的重量在30个参赛大冬瓜中脱颖而出，获冬瓜王称号。“我有7亩冬瓜地，今年收获6万斤冬瓜，目前全部卖完了。”种了20多年冬瓜的冬瓜王种植户陈锦汉兴高采烈地说。惠来县是优质黑皮冬瓜产地，种植面积达2.5万亩，年产量约十万吨。
