10月8日，湖北当阳。网友爆料称玉泉寺内一名女子爬上3米高佛像，站着张开双臂拥抱佛像。对此玉泉寺工作人员回应称，该女子是附近一名村民，精神不正常。经过现场工作人员劝导女子最终从佛像下来，佛像没有受到损坏。
