Oscar Peterson has publicly described Ulf as one of the greatest guitarists alive in the world today and many of today’s most acclaimed jazz guitarists are among Ulf’s fans, including Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin, John Scofield and Mike Stern. 福原美穂

日本歌手福原美穂（Fukuhara Miho），1987年6月19日出生于北海道。她是一位有着胜似黑人歌手嗓音的女孩，2008年2月作为首位日本人在洛杉矶的黑人教堂演唱。福原在日本札幌的独立唱片公司Yumecha旗下出道，并以单曲和专辑《The Roots》首次亮相。唱片在当地获得成功后，福原很快于2006年与Sony Music Japan签约。她在2008年发行了自己的单曲“Change”，在日本播放排行榜中排名第三。在她发行录音室专辑《Rainbow》后不久，于2009年1月在日本排行榜上排名第二，并售出10万张专辑。

Fukuhara debuted under independent Yumecha Records in Sapporo Japan debuting with single and mini-album, “The Roots” and “Step Out”. After the local success of the records, Fukuhara was soon Signed to national label Sony Music Japan in 2006.

She released her first major label single “Change” in 2008, reaching #3 in the National airplay charts.

Soon after she released her studio album“Rainbow” – co-produced by Fukuhara herself peaked at #2 in the national charts in Jan 2009, selling 100,00 copies.

Till Brnner is Germany’s leading jazz trumpeter. While he is known for his outstanding virtuosity, he is also referred to as a ‘German Chet Baker’. Brnner studied jazz trumpet at the College of Music, Cologne. Among his prominent teachers are Prof. Malte Burba and the American jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew. His first album, Generations of Jazz, with Ray Brown, Jeff Hamilton, Frank Chastenier and Grégoire Peters, was released in 1993. Immediately it won the ‘Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik’ (German Records Criticism Award). From then on he played with international greats such as Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett, Mark Murphy, James Moody, Monty Alexander, Nils Landgren as well as Klaus Doldinger and Joe Sample.

郭一凡，唱作人、制作人、知名乐手。 4岁起学习声乐，毕业于孔祥东音乐学院。 2012年参加东方卫视《声动亚洲》获全国六强，出道成为歌手。 后投身幕后，为张信哲、陈奕迅、容祖儿等多位知名音乐人制作、编曲。 2019年11月，发布原创专辑《重返地球》，融合R&B、City Pop等多种流派，且有强烈的个人特色，在业内频受称赞。 郭一凡一人包揽整张专辑词曲创作、编曲、制作等所有工作，在Home Studio中完成整张专辑，常笑称自己为“卧室唱作人”。 在十平米不足的Home Studio中，郭一凡创造了一个广袤的音乐世界。

Wallace Roney

Wallace Roney 出生于1960年5月25日，是美国著名的爵士乐歌手和小号演奏家。他自16岁起就赢得了同行和长者的钦佩和尊重，后赢得了在1979年和1980年最佳年轻爵士音乐家奖，并在1989年和1990年的Down Beat 杂志评选活动中赢得了最佳小号演奏表演奖。1991年，Wallace在Miles于蒙特勒（Montreux）的历史性演出中时加入表演，那时他们的合作达到了高峰。Davis去世后，Herbie Hancock、Ron Carter、Wayne Shorter、Tony Williams和Wallace Roney一同组成乐队并进行世界巡回演出来致敬Miles Davis。作为良师益友，Miles Davis对其音乐创作、为人处世等方面有着极其深远的影响。

Wallace Roney earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues and his elders since age 16. He has been an integral part of the band with Tony Williams, Ornette Coleman, Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Philly Joe Jones, Walter Davis Jr., Herbie Hancock, Jay McShann, David Murray, McCoy Tyner, Sonny Rollins, Curtis Fuller, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Dizzy Gillespie to name a few. He was one of the few musicians in his generation who learned and perfected his craft directly from alliances with Jazz Masters. But his most important and meaningful relationship was with Miles Davis.

It’s going to be another unforgettable New Year’s Eve Celebration this December with the Blue Note China Jazz Orchestra, which will feature modern alto saxophone giant Rudresh Mahanthappa. Named the alto saxophonist of the year numerous times by leading jazz publications, Mahanthappa has recorded over a dozen albums and has established an unmistakable approach to the saxophone marked by his mesmerizing, penetrating sound. In his music, Mahanthappa has synthesized the complex implications of John Coltrane’s innovations in harmony as well as rhythmic and compositional aspects from Indian classical music, creating a new path for jazz improvisation in the 21st century. Over the years, Mahanthappa has collaborated with major jazz artists including Vijay Iyer, Jack DeJohnette, Mark Dresser, Danilo Pérez, Steve Lehman, Bunky Green, David Gilmore, and Dave “Fuze” Fiuczynski, and he was named Director of Jazz at Princeton University in 2016. This New Year’s Eve, Mahanthappa will join the BNCJO in a diverse program that will include pieces by Mahanthappa as well as iconic works from the history of big band jazz from the past through the present, from Duke Ellington to Thad Jones to John Hollenbeck. We look forward to having you join us as we launch into the new decade with the Blue Note China Jazz Orchestra.
