根据阿森纳官方报道，1996年10月1日，温格开始执教球队。
22年前的今天，阿森纳迎来了新任主帅温格，起初不被看好的法国人，成为了枪手史上的功勋主帅。上赛季末期，温格正式离开了执教22年的阿森纳。
在这22年间，温格带队3获英超冠军，夺冠赛季分别是1997/98赛季、2001/02赛季以及2003/04赛季，7夺足总杯冠军（1998、2002、2003、2005, 2014、2015、2017）。他也曾3次获得英超赛季最佳教练，都是在夺冠赛季。
当然，温格也给枪手球迷带来了最难忘的不败赛季。
