虽然说朱仙镇一直是水陆交通要道和商埠之地，明朝时是开封唯一的水陆转运码头，可是现在依然是一个镇，截至2013年，朱仙镇下辖21个行政村，51个自然村，总人口约5.3万，有汉族、回族等7个民族。盛产玉米、小麦、西瓜、花生，其中畜牧业非常发达，是豫东地区牛羊肉深加工和水产鱼苗繁育基地
