红狐丛书

“红狐丛书”是一套北岛主编的当代国际诗人多语种诗集，汇集各国著名诗人作品，画出当代世界诗歌的最新版图，“让语言和精神的种子在风暴中四海为家”。

“红狐丛书”由活字文化策划，依地域分为七辑，内容选自参与历届香港国际诗歌之夜的外国诗人作品。每辑收录5―10名诗人的选作，尽可能展现当代世界诗歌版图的全貌。其中既有被誉为“整个东欧世界先锋诗人代表”的斯洛文尼亚诗人托马斯·萨拉蒙、日本当代著名诗人谷川俊太郎、美国原生态诗人加里·斯奈德、叙利亚诗人阿多尼斯等；也有在国内并不知名，但在母国的诗歌界却有着十足分量的诗人，如被视作聂鲁达以来最重要的智利诗人劳尔·朱利塔，澳大利亚诗歌界几乎所有诗人都在阅读的彼得·明特，以及优秀的阿拉伯语诗人穆罕默德·贝尼斯，等等。每位诗人的作品独立成册，同时收入诗人原作与中英双语译文。每册诗集以袖珍小开本的形式出版，便于携带阅读。

无论谁身陷迷宫

　　不是在追寻真相

真相不是暴露

　　暴露是对秘密的摧毁；

我们的经验仍受缚于一种认知

这种认知已不再是我们的经验。

我们的认知贬损于一种经验

这种经验还没有化为认知。

我们必须编织新的诗图

指出真相可能现身的地方

既非真实　　也非谎言

这种真相或许是

非似真实的

难以想象的

不可思议的

或许能将错误 （激情）

变成我们的生命之线。

① 阿里阿德涅（Ariadne）是希腊神话中克里特国王米诺斯的女儿。米诺斯的迷宫中囚禁着一个牛头人身的怪物（米诺陶），每年需雅典献祭七对童男童女。雅典王子忒修斯跟随童男童女来除害，阿里阿德涅爱上了他，并交给他线团和魔刀，让他进入迷宫时放开线团，杀死米诺陶之后，跟随线团的线走出迷宫。

▎The Veil

A man locked in a labyrinth

does not seek the truth;

but his Ariadne.

Truth is not an unveiling

that destroys the secret

it is the un-concealment that does it justice.

Our experience remains the captive of knowledge

that no longer is our experience;

our knowledge is trivialized by an experience

that has not yet become knowledge.

We must weave new poetic paths

that will designate the potential places of a “truth”

neither true　　nor false

a truth that will be

implausible

improbable

impossible

thereby making error　　(pathos)

the thread of our life.

▎To Read: To Love

As I read you, I swim. Like a bear—bear with paws,

you push me into bliss. You lie on top of me, who

tore me apart. You I fell in love with unto death, first

among the born. It took but a moment and I was your bonfire.

I am safe as never before. You are the ultimate

feeling of fulfillment: to know where longing comes from.

I’m in a soft grave whenever inside you. You cut, you illuminate,

every layer. Time bursts into flame and disappears. I hear hymns

when I watch you. You are strict and demanding, concrete. And I

cannot speak. I know I long for you, hard grey steel. For one of

your touches, I give up everything. Look, the late afternoon sun

is dashing against the walls of the courtyard in Urbino. I have died

for you. I feel you, I use you. Torturer. You uproot and you torch me,

always. And into the places you have destroyed, paradise flows.

▎Ceremonial Robes

In the cold decayed

heart of these lands

I saw eyes.

Everyone was there with their voice

and their body’s pose.

We know someone best while making love,

when we corrode our hearts together.

Growing heavy, our body

wakes us in the night.

Houses with courtyards are like graves.

Childhood is a sleep, long-lasting.

And a yearning to touch,

a yearning drags us towards death.

I tested myself in every body,

I abandoned myself in every city.

I took the skies of countries to my heart

and when I saw the emptiness of my heart,

I said, it’s time to go.

Inside the mouldering robes of ceremony

roots sway on the hanger.

Even if we drop fire in the sea

it will burn for ever,

it burns, a gift of desolation to the dark.

Perhaps history is a mistake, says the poet

mankind’s a mistake, says god.

Much later,

in a future corrupt as the heart of these lands,

mankind’s a mistake says god,

I’m here to correct it

but too late.

The wave of red lifeless water,

the road followed at night,

the poor earth strewn with travellers,

the white swaying shrouds,

ceremonial robes.

The only thing needed for a race

is the horse’s mane.

This is the truth,

now we are here

rotted away in a rut.

God must not see the letters of my script.

Mankind’s a mistake, he keeps saying.

And to correct his mistake

he gives sorrow,

only sorrow.

llueve, hubo un día claro que llueve ahora sobre el mar.

Son sombras, carnadas para peces.Llueve un día claro,

un amor que no alcanzó a decirse. El amor, ah sí el

amor, llueven desde cielo asombrosas carnadas sobre la

sombra de los peces en el mar.

Caen días claros. Extraas carnadas pegadas de días

El mar, se dice del mar. Se dice de carnadas que llueven

y de días claros pegados a ellas,se dice de amores

inconclusos, de días claros einconclusos que llueven

para los peces en el mar.

▎The Sea

1

Strange baits rain from the sky. Surprising bait falls

upon the sea. Down below the ocean, up above unusual

clouds on a clear day. Surprising baits rain on the sea.

There was a love raining, there was a clear day that’s

raining now on the sea.

They are shadows, bait for fishes. A clear day is raining,

a love that was never said. Love, ah yes, love, amazing

baits are raining from the sky on the shadow of fishes

in the sea.

Clear days fall. Some strange baits with clear days stuck

to them, with loves that were never said.

The sea, it says the sea. It says baits that rain and clear

days stuck to them, it says unfinished loves, clear and

unfinished days that rain for the fish in the sea.
