1953年-1960年期间，瑞典先后向英国订购了2批共270辆“百夫长”主战坦克。这批主战坦克在瑞典服役多年，还在80年代经历了现代化改造。但是毕竟“百夫长”已经无法适应现代战场，因此在2000年，瑞典现役的“百夫长”全部退役，由“豹2”主战坦克接替。
