科学家发现了一块1.25亿年前的化石，属于一种叫“板尾董尖齿兽”的小动物。它体长约30厘米，脚像鸭嘴兽的蹼（pǔ）足，尾巴像海狸鼠，是个“游泳小能手”。
这是第一次证实，1.25亿年前（恐龙时代）的哺乳动物就会游泳啦。
这块化石还保存了牙齿和耳朵的珍贵结构，解答了不少关于早期哺乳动物进化的疑问。
