一曲《追寻》敬华诞｜杭州鼎文国际学校，在歌声里读懂家国情怀

囯庆节，120余名师生跨学部同台演绎，用滚烫歌声诉说家国情怀。根植中国、胜任全球、博爱世界，鼎文学子以少年之声，礼赞盛世中华！鼎文师生用热爱共同唱响《追寻》，这是致敬祖国77岁华诞的献礼，也是鼎文人理解教育的一种方式。

On National Day, more than 120 teachers and students from across divisions performed together on the same stage, expressing their love for home and country through fervent song. Rooted in China, Globally Competent, and Universally Compassionate, Dingwen students praise a prosperous China with youthful voices! Dingwen teachers and students sang “The Quest” together with passion—a tribute to the motherland’s 77th anniversary, and also a way for Dingwen people to understand education.

01 追寻，从认识自己的来处开始

Pursuit Begins with Knowing Where We Come From

一首歌，可以让人回望来时的路。

对于孩子而言，成长从来不只是向前走，也包括回头看看：我们从哪里来？那些被时间留下的文化、历史与记忆，为什么值得我们记住？这也是鼎文“根植中国”的意义。

它是让孩子们在真实的学习中，逐渐建立起对中国文化的理解，对自身身份的认识，以及面对世界时属于自己的坐标。

知道来处，不意味着停留于来处。恰恰相反，有根，才能走得更远。

A song can take us back to where we began.

For children, growth is not only about moving forward. It is also about looking back and asking: Where do we come from? Why do the culture, history and memories passed down through time deserve to be remembered?This is what it means to be Rooted in China.

It is not simply about learning traditional culture. It is about helping students gradually develop a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, a clearer sense of identity, and their own point of reference when engaging with the wider world.

Knowing where we come from does not mean staying where we are.

Quite the opposite.With strong roots, we can go further.

02 追寻，也发生在每一次真实的学习里

Pursuit Happens in Every Authentic Learning Experience

在鼎文，每个孩子都能成为学习的主动参与者。

鼎文双轨融合的课程体系，多元的学术、艺术与体育实践，为孩子提供不断探索的空间；鼎文老师所做的，也不仅仅是传递知识，更是给予方向、搭建支架，陪伴孩子走进真实的问题之中。

鼎文的孩子们可以去阅读，去提问，去验证，也去面对那些暂时没有标准答案的问题。因为教育真正留下的，是他们是否愿意继续追问，是否拥有面对未知、探索未知的勇气。

At DWA, we hope students become active participants in their own learning.

Our integrated curriculum, together with diverse academic, artistic and sporting experiences, gives students the space to explore. Teachers do more than deliver knowledge. They provide direction, build support and accompany students as they engage with real questions.

To read, to ask, to test, and to explore questions that may not yet have clear answers. Because what education ultimately leaves with a child is not simply how many answers they remember, but whetherthey remain willing to ask questions, and whether they have the courage to explore the unknown.

03 当目光走向世界，追寻便有了更辽阔的天地

As We Look to the World, Our Pursuit Takes on a Wider Meaning

从鼎文出发，孩子可以看见更大的世界。

不同国家的历史与文化，不同的社会与生活方式，不同的思维方式与表达方式，都在提醒我们：世界并不是只有一种答案。

胜任全球，意味着学生能够理解差异、尊重不同，在跨文化的交流与合作中保持开放，也保持自己的判断。

所以，鼎文鼓励孩子向世界打开自己，也在世界中不断确认自己。

走得越远，越需要知道自己是谁；

看见得越多，越需要学会理解他人。

这也是鼎文“根植中国、胜任全球、博爱世界”所指向的成长——从自己的文化根基出发，拥有理解世界的眼光，也拥有与不同的人彼此尊重、共同对话的胸怀。

From DWA, students are encouraged to see a wider world.

Different histories and cultures, different societies and ways of life, different ways of thinking and expressing ideas all remind us that the world rarely has only one answer.

To be Globally Competent means more than having the ability to go out into the world. It also means understanding differences, respecting others, remaining open in cross-cultural communication and collaboration, while maintaining independent judgement.

So we encourage students to open themselves to the world while continuing to understand who they are within it.

The farther we go, the more important it becomes to know who we are.

The more we see, the more we learn to understand others.

This is the growth envisioned in our philosophy: Rooted in China, Globally Competent, and Universally Compassionate.

To begin with our own cultural roots, to understand the world with an open mind, and to engage with people from different backgrounds through respect, empathy and dialogue.

04 教育，本就是一场漫漫求索

Education Is Itself an Enduring Pursuit

“我执着地求索在漫漫路上。”

教育，本身就是一条漫漫求索路。

什么样的教育，能够让孩子真正成为学习的主人？

什么样的课堂，能够让好奇心变成持续探索的力量？

什么样的成长，能够让一个孩子既拥有自己的文化根基，又有勇气和世界对话？

这些问题，没有一个可以被轻易写下的标准答案。

我们也始终在路上。

在一次次课堂实践中探索，

在一次次与孩子的相遇中理解，

在一次次教育选择中，靠近我们心中的答案。

教育的“求索”，不仅属于孩子，也属于每一位教育者。

我们在寻找更好的教学方式，也在不断追问：我们希望鼎文的孩子成为什么样的人？我们又希望成为怎样的教育者？

路漫漫其修远兮，吾将上下而求索。正因没有终点，才始终拥有向前的力量。

“I keep searching with determination along this long road.”

Education itself is a long journey of pursuit.

What kind of education truly allows children to become owners of their own learning?

What kind of classroom can transform curiosity into a lasting desire to explore?

What kind of growth allows a child to remain rooted in their own culture while having the confidence to engage with the world?

None of these questions has an easy or standard answer.

So we, too, remain on the journey.

We explore through each classroom practice.

We learn through every encounter with our students.

And through every educational choice, we move a little closer to the answers we seek.

The pursuit of better education belongs not only to students, but to every educator.

We continue searching for better ways to teach, while also asking ourselves: Who do we hope our students will become? And: What kind of educators do we hope to become?

The road may be long. Yet perhaps it is precisely because there is no final destination that we continue to move forward.

05 鼎文人的追寻，生长力：向深处，见辽阔

Growth from Within: Go Deep, Reach Far

这也是鼎文理解“追寻”的方式：

追寻来处，知道自己是谁；

追寻真知，保持不断发问；

追寻世界，学会理解不同；

也追寻更好的教育，

让每一个人持续生长。

这个国庆，鼎文师生一起唱响《追寻》。

歌声会停下，旋律会远去，但求索仍在继续。

因为教育，从来不是一条已经铺好的路。

在鼎文

向更深处追寻，

向更辽阔处求索，

向阳向美的生长，始终在发生。

This is also how we understand pursuit:

Pursuing our roots, to understand who we are;

Pursuing knowledge, and continuing to ask questions;

Pursuing the wider world, and learning to understand difference;

And pursuing better education, so that every child has the opportunity to keep growing.

This National Day, DWA students and teachers sang The Quest together.

The song will end. The melody will fade. But the pursuit continues. Because education is never a road that has already been laid out for us.

Pursuit is our attitude.
