The 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards culminated with Apple TV+’s freshman horror hybrid “Widow’s Bay” capping off its dominant night by winning for comedy series. The show also won for lead actor Matthew Rhys (adding to an earlier win for lead actor in a limited series for Netflix’s “The Beast in Me,” making him the first actor to win two lead Emmys in the same season), supporting actress in a comedy, Kate O’Flynn and supporting actor in a comedy, Stephen Root. Jean Smart of Hacks won her fifth straight lead actress in comedy Emmy for “Hacks.”
